Hello, Ladies! Sorry it's taken me forever to introduce myself. I'm Natalie Everson and I'm working at Northland while trying to finish an associates degree. I'm a single mom of Kevin Joshua Everson who is about 15 months.
I've struggled w/ weight loss all my life. I was never skinny. Since I had Kevin, although I didn't gain that much weight while I was pregnant, I just can't seem to get those pounds to come off. Here's a really unflattering picture of me and my son when we were celebrating Kevin's 1st birthday. I'm at the point in my life where I'm looking at myself thinking - I'm almost 26 years old. I have a son to take care of (alone) and I have to support him and I. I'm at risk for many diseases such as diabetes and heart attacks. Why am I continuing to live like this? When I saw this blog I was super excited b/c I figured it would be a place of accountability and encouragement w/ sisters in Christ. Thank you for including me!
I haven't gone back yet to read some of your past blogs which I really need to do to get all caught up.
My long term goal is to lose at least 120 pounds! That's a huge goal, but I'm trying to break that up into short term goals. So by my birthday, August 30th, I would like to lose 5 pounds. I don't know if ya'll put your starting weights on here, so I'm not going to do it now.
Talk to you all later!

WELCOME! Wow, I don't know your whole story, but I don't know how in the world you manage to work and raise a little boy all by yourself! I sure hope our little blog can be an encouragement to you in your efforts to get healthy.
Your Kevin was a big baby just like my daughter Chloe. Chloe weighed 10 lbs. 1 oz. at birth and I had her c-section (I don't even want to imagine having that big girl naturally - no wonder so many women died during childbirth in the old days). I use her size as an excuse sometimes for not losing all my pregnancy weight. I am constantly struck by what a hard fight it is to lose weight and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Only with God's help can we make any progress towards our goal.

Hi! Chloe is adorable! You're married to Matt, right? He was my English teacher for a semester. I'm STILL trying to finish college! I've been here since '99 w/ a little detour in there too.
I should clarify a little - I live w/ my parents and they do help me a great deal. But it's not the same as being married. I guess that's just part of my consequences for my actions. But I know that God is gracious and He's always there waiting w/ open arms. :)

welcome to the group, natalie. I hope that we can be a source of encouragement for you as you endeavor to reach your goals. It is wonderful having other sisters in Christ to encourage you along the way, and this blog has definitely been a blessing to me.
Natalie: You had Matt as a teacher?!? Wow. I hope you had a good experience in his English class. He's a wonderful guy and has really grown as a teacher and Christian since that whole NBBC time. I graduated in '99 so I just missed you! :(
Praise the Lord that you have your parents to help out and support you. Now that I'm a mom I REALLY appreciate and value my mom's sacrifices in raising us as a single divorced lady. I had a great childhood but I don't know how she found the strength without a supportive hubby. Is it weird being at NBBC as a single mom? I can imagine you have to explain your situation often. I'll be praying for you in your weight loss efforts and for God's strength and all sustaining grace, dear!
Natalie -
Great to meet up with you in the blogosphere. I'm glad you've joined our group, hopefully we can be a source of encouragement for you. I am still struggling to lose my extra baby weight from having Esther 6 mo ago, so I feel your pain. Let us know how we can pray for you too!
Natalie,
You may not remember me, but I remember you! Welcome to the group - I am pretty new myself. I am glad you have joined and I hope you find this blog to be a blessing!
I'm back from the UK and glad to see your first post, Natalie! I hope your progress toward your August goal is going well. I'm praying for you, would appreciate your prayers for me, and am SO glad you're part of our group!
