I got back from vacation almost a week ago. As I said before I left, I was not going to stick to a strict diet while vacationing - just be balanced. I was happy to find that when I got home I had not gained any weight! Any food I ate must have been worked off while walking in the sand and swimming in the lake.
Since February I have lost 11 pounds. I have found that what really adds the pounds on is flour! When I eat a lot of breaded things I can just feel my stomach getting bigger. Yikes! I am trying to watch the carbs and the flour intake. Honestly, what has helped me the most is watching my portions. I tend to eat way more than I need. Thankfully I have not had much of an appetite lately (probably due to my medications). It's so nice to feel good in summer clothes! My goal this week is to walk at least three times. I would like to run - but I don't know if I can bring myself to do it!

Great job on your vacation! I agree about flour/carbs. I love them so; I don't think I could give them up. Instead I try to exercise a lot and then eat what I want. That technique always used to work just fine but I'm having a harder time now that my metabolism is slowing down. Excellent job, girl! Keep up the good work.
I wish that worked for me! I think my problem is that I have no self control. I love food too much. I believe it's a spiritual issue for me. I need to be more disciplined.

I definately struggle with discipline!! Trust me! For example, my goal is to walk three times this week - I haven't done it once yet. Plus, I had two candybars today, chips, and deep fried chicken. YIKES! This is why I need the accountability.
I don't have much will power either. I can't keep bad foods in the house. I really haven't gotten into a good routine here in MI. I could use the excuse that it's been too busy/crazy, traveling somewhere - out of state or country - every couple of weeks, but that doesn't make me feel better about not working out!
